Eradicate – Demise Towards The Dasein - 70%

Eradicate was formed in 2021 at Kadikoy, Istanbul. Founded by Inhuman (vocals & guitars), Sarzu (bass) and The Han (drums). Already a year after the formation of the band, first Demo debut was released via Godz Ov War. For some reason, this is my first encounter with this band from Türkiye and their 2022 Demo entitled Demise Towards The Dasein.

The tracks on Demise Towards The Dasein contains riffs from early days of Eradicate, which later got altered to match the sound of doom & death. Demo opens with this rather short (1-minute length) intro track called “Maddening Darkness of Obscurity”, which sounds as if the the microphone being lowered into the very depths of hell, with a few obscure noises, screams and settling the tone and right atmosphere for what is to come on the three remaining tracks. “Maddening Darkness Of Obscurity” leads us nicely into the first real frantic & macabre death metal assault, “Whispering Paranoia”. It is a musical maelstrom with this hardcore vibe to Eradicate’s sound. There’s some serious death elements on display on “Whispering Paranoia” too, as the trio delivers some crushing, demolishing, hellish, groovy and claustrophobic sounds. The vocal work also just fine in tandem with the equally bassy dynamics. I can even sense some doomish and claustrophobic atmosphere surrounding this song in particular. Now comes the highlight of this Demo for me, a track called “Involution Within the Void”. Somehow unusual thing to have a bass a main driving role carrying the whole song. Monstrous screamy and rotten vocals, shredding guitars, blasting drums and a really groovy rhythm section, are just some of the other ingredients you can hear on this song alone. It’s a well-written track that is pretty much representative of the overall sound of the band. The same applies for the closing track titled “Pseudic Liberty of the Mind”. Both these tracks have some morbid and memorable moments.

The prodution is as one could expect from a debut death metal Demo release. It’s raw, dirty and yet dark, deep and mesmerizing. As for the cover artwork, I’ve said many times before, there’s nothing like the power of a an image/cover art, it speaks silently in multiple ways and it has the ability to create different emotion. This one leaves no doubt that we’re dealing here with an extreme metal release.

In a nutshell; Demise Towards The Dasein is a 13 minutes of uncompromising and unsettling death metal. Highly recommended for fans of Deicide, Asphyx, Carcass, Gorefest, Autopsy etc.
