The staff at Metal Revolution Webzine aim to give an objective critique of any material and the grades obviously reflect the personal views of any writer, respectively.

The regular reader of Metal Revolution must have also noticed that most reviews begin with a certain rating, ranging somewhere between 00 and 100, but how to interpret such a mark? I mean, different people have different ideas with such scores. That is of course pretty much confusing for you as a reader, so we decided to implement, what we view as, a more clear system of grading. Please consider the following descriptions a short introduction as well as some explanation for our intentions.

ABOUT THE GRADES:

90%

A milestone – merely applied to albums that define history e.g. Slayer’s Reign in Blood or Metallica’s Master of Puppets. Candidates for album of the year.

80%

Candidates for album of the month

60-80%

Good and decent piece of music, but still no top of the bill

50%

Average grade, standard, nothing special

30-50%

Bellow average, but still interesting<

10-30%

Very boring and inspiring piece of music, but not really disastrous

<10%

The bottom of it all, a waste of time and resources

WE MOREOVER GRADE THE FOLLOWING PARAMETERS:

Artwork – how professional and creative is the artwork, especially the front cover? It is rip-off and cliché or something new and innovative?
Production – how well is the material produced or how well does the production reflect the concept of the material?
Originality – how original is this material? What is its contribution to the genre?
Continuity – does the material reflect coherence?
