Death Blood is something (for me) as novel as a brutal Death Metal trio hailing from my beloved France – Which, despite my strong affinity for the countrys Metal scene, has for the most part been focused on the Black aspect of it. Imagine my delight then, when my boss is kind enough to throw Osteonecrovore (no, I have no idea what this is referencing and so far Google has been of little assistance) at me, helping me to broaden my horizons while at the same time striking down into one of my enjoyments.

At its core, Osteonecrovore is an old-fashioned Death Metal EP, musically exactly what you would expect to come across had the record been released about thirty years ago; It is relentless, fast-paced in a manner that is only possible when dictated by blast beats and with the guitars distorted just enough to showcase the sheer aggression delivered through guttural growls. A small onslaught onto the senses, if you will, one that has been seen and replicated many times over the years, mostly due to the fact that it not only works but is very efficient at conveying both energy and anger to any would-be recipient.

As was (and thankfully still is) the case, each of the five tracks (and to a lesser extent the intro and outro) are their own self-contained anthems of destruction, averaging in length somewhere around the three-to-four minute mark, marking the record of average length for an EP (roughly twenty-eight minutes) – As well as a strong example of what this relatively new Death Metal act has to offer. If this album is representative of what they can do after a mere five years (since 2018), then I have a good feeling about any upcoming Full-length releases in the future. It is simple, to the point and unapologetic – A perfect recommendation for fans of Obituary and Nunslaughter.
