Dusk – Wheels of Twilight

The first two songs, catchy heavy rock, the third song, “The Dagger” is an instant regular rotation song. The vocalist’s style is a union of Stevie Nicks and Glenn Danzig, soulful and dark. “Inquisitors of the Mountain Cult” is a standout track on the 7-song set. The more I hear the album, the more it feels like a 70s rock/doom fusion. Interesting combination, I’m liking it. The master and mix engineers must be big fans of kick drums. Throughout the song set, the kick drum is up front. Overall, a solid heavy rock song set.

The Austrian quartet are ones to watch. Their debut album is an excellent edition to your rock library. The album artwork is a lost page from a fantasy story. It looks like a closeup of a sorcerer anointing a skull. I might have missed this solid song set if the cover art didn’t catch my eye. Available on vinyl, CD and download, get yours.
