I think is totally insane that some people call you a less metal fan just because you cut your hair. What about Rob, Kerrry K, Bruce D and many others. You are a metal fan in your heart not on your head...

haha, you got inspired by my new haircut? No really,no matter my haircut, I've laso thought so, it is not hair that makes you metaller...I mean I've had long hair for 10 years on and off, and I never saw myself to be more metal than someone who's short haired. Yeah, good examples you mentioned with Rob Flynn, Kerry King, Phil Anselmo, guys from Metallica, Bruce Dickinson etc, etc. Aren't they metal? The same goes for people saying you only have to wear black, it is stupid and primitive: I mean black is my fave colour and most of my clothes is black, but you don't have to wear black to be true metaller... in hot summer days like now,I always prefer white or some light colour... it is stupid, metal is about freedom, freedom of speach and freedom of expression, and thats why it is stupid to limit metal only to be for people wearing black or people with long hair. This discussion is in one way outdated... I guess only small kids discuss about that, because who are weto judge if someone is metal or not? What does it mean to be metal? Is it individual thing or a trend? For me it's lifestyle, lifestyle of my own, metal is my first true love and not a trend that I follow wearing certain clothes... let freedom ring...
Yup, Metal is from within. Its what you listen to, what you support. Hair is cool, cause it grows back. I've had really long hair several times in my life. I go through phases. Hell, I've always let my music do the talking anyway. I'm in stealth mode right now. hehe Besides, my wife prefers it short. She's the main gal I gotta keep happy these days, ya know. But no, you do not "have" to have long hair , be drunk, drugged out, ect, other stupid stereotypes, to be considered metal to the core. Its just a love for the music, that's all you need...
I agree. Also people that don't know me, always say "why do ya dress as a stupid girls in white and flowers instead of beeing a metal girl??" My answer is always the same: fuck you. I have metal inside. Anyway, Bato shut up because you're absolutely ugly in your new look!!! ;) ...was joking..
yeah, I know I'm ugly... peace with that!!! But other than that I totally agree...you can wear white (which is very pure and clean and inocent colour) and still be biggest metaller in the world. Flowers? Those people are stupid who ask you that... flowers are best and most beautiful thing in world, me and Simona love flowers, although we don't have many...
There are tons of metal musicians with short hair. Its really a non issue in my mind. People can be quite judgemental about appearance alright. They like things to fit into molds or categories. It doesn't work that way does it.
Hehehe i had insane long hair for years. For almost 10 years now, i have short hair...but i am as insnae as i will ever be. it's all about love and attitude

totally agree...... I have pretty long hair, and to me personally it is one way i express my dedication to metal... i'm real stubborn about not cutting my hair anyway, that's how i like it and i'm not gonna cut it because anybody else thinks i should...... but it doesn't matter that all metalheads don't have long hair.... Having long hair in today's society has alot of disadvantages... for me, i get looked at like i'm some druggie scum of the earth wherever i go, cops give me a hard time, it's pretty hard to find a job somtimes.... and i can see why people have their hair short for whatever reason, job, going to court, whatever.... metal is definitley from within......
I love metal but that doesn't mean I have to have long hair. By coincidence, I do, but it's all tied up in dreadlox combined with a side-cut. As all you others say, it's about love for the music. I have a friend who looks like something out of a Calvin Klein commercial, the kind you would take home to momma, but his favourite bands include Deicide, Dimmu Borgir and Satyricon, so it has nothing to do with the looks. @Calling Hour: No, you don't have to be drunk and drugged out, but it really helps ;)
