... that after the singer Dead ( Per Ohlin) in the Norwegian Black Metal band Mayhem comitted suicide back in 1991, the other members took a photo of his dead body, and use it on the cover album. And the drummer of Hellhammer ( Jan A. Blomberg) had made a nickless of fragments of his skull.Â
In addition to this black metal discussion, read this news whom I've posted last week, cause I guess not many of you have read it and none have commented it: http://metal-revolution.com/news.php?extend.173Â

Actually that album (Dawn of the black hearts) is a Columbian bootleg (though it has been bootlegged many times since). However, there were plans of using that photo, on a Dead tribute album, but it never happened.
Btw. the title of the bootleg album, was one that Fenriz came up with. He wrote the lyrics for it, as Euronymous asked him to write some lyrics for Mayhem. But in the end, he thought they were too weird and not suitable for Mayhem.
As for the pieces of skull. They were sent to various friends of Mayhem (It from Abruptum and Morgan from Marduk, among others), who themselves, made necklaces (which of them did it, I don't know). As far as I know, Hellhammer didn't have anything to do with this, as it was Euronymous who found Dead, took the pictures and removed a few pieces of the skull. He was actually questioned about the missing pieces of the skull.
