Let me know what you think? Almost every person on earth has an opinion of this artist and I too have one: I was rasied up and been listening to his most famous hits from a very early age. Until I became metaldick I was very much into MJ and Madonna and I do consider him to be our generation' Elvis. he was great entartainer and fantastic dancer/singer but this man was crazy, sicko and I have very little if any respect him as a person (by judging from the media stories): I don't trust people who change their race/gender and people who sleep with other's people's kids, anyway: his lgacy is great and he will be missed, at least in our little home! R.I.P.
Like you I have also listen to his music since I was a kid. Its hard to think that he is gone, but he has lived his life vey "sad" with lots of medicine, stress and high blood presure etc. R.I.P
I sympathize whenever there's a death, but I think the fuss is getting out of hand with this. Yes it's sad that he's passed away, but no more so than when any other human passes away.

I agree completely Patrick. I just wondered today how many people in DEN or USA for that matter know and have heard about fly disaster of an yemenise jetliner last week? More than 150 innocent people, majority of those were children, died? How many times have you seen this story on our local TV-stations and papers? Maybe 1/100 of what you heard about MJ's death. I guess not all people are equal... :(
I think its all about money and to become a famous person. In the US the media always send 24 hours. And thry to think everytime they heard about a little new thing in the death of MJ millions of viewers gets to hear it. And more people more money...

I agree completely Simona, but that's exactly the problem. Money dictates what media should bring and what public should be informed about. It is NOT always, as seen with the case of MJ's death, the most important stories that are being told. In other words; what about numerous stories that we are not bein' told? Media shapes your reality and that's why we have a certain view on the world... Like in the war; we are always getting one side of the story, but who ever gave Saddam, Taleban, Castro, Mugabe etc. a chance to tell their story?!
Simona wrote ... I really dont know, but Saddam and Taleban didnt make an effort in the world, there where only troubles. Its not because Im rassist at all..
NO, I know and maybe my comparison was not a good one, but you can take another musician, it doesn't have to be a politician/soldier. What I'm trying to say is that we (or at least the media) whould give 'another side' also a chance to comment. Ex. when MJ was brought to court because of charges of child abuse, we only heard his side of the story and got a symapthy with him. he made a deal with families by paying huge amount of money, why do so if you're innocent etc, etc. I just think that this person was odd and bizzare but I aknowledge the fact that he crated some unforgatable tunes. The role of the media in this case like so many times before is very bad and partly one-sided, I can't applaud for that, sorry!
While a weird analogy in some aspects, the meaning you put forth with it, Bato, is quite clear - and I wholeheartedly agree.
Opinions on anything is formed, unless you have a chance to witness it with your own eyes, by what you're told by a bunch of coporate figureheads whoes sole purpose is to make money. (While this is a bit exaggerated, you get the picture.)
I used to have BBC rolling a lot on the tellie, as I just liked the constant well-formulated English I could hear. Gradually, while BBC is one of the better, I started to notice just how bias every single report is - some are just harder to see through than others.
I agree, I experience the same when watching CNN, BBC but also biased danish media as tv2... esp. this station reminds me less of a 'public service' station and more of a 'Se & Hoer) kind of tabloid news deliverer. :( Yeah, the world is definitely ugly & evil.
