Aura Mystique, 2007
Hell yeah, one of the most underestimated bands in Denmark, Black Dementia, has just released their first full-length album (after few very successful demo and mini-CD releases) called Dictum of Negation through mighty Aura Mystique Productions.
The music Black Dementia is playing can best be described as up-tempo fast death and thrash metal, being tough, edgy, sharp and heavy but above anything very aggressive. I esp. got into their drums, being very loud and kind of going on full speed. The guitar sound on the other hand is balancing somewhere in between razor sharp and heavy, which also leaves great impact on the ear of any listener. The only problem I see with this album is the lack of variation, despite of very decent production and somehow polished sound, I feel that the band tends to repeat itself and all the tracks despite of very high quality sounds just similar.
Black Dementia is in my opinion the most underestimated Danish/French metal band and they sure deserved more attention than your usual domestic metal band so I don’t see any reason why you should not as a first step go and visit their homepage at www.blackdementia.com or www.auramystique.com It can esp. be recommended for the fans of Impiety and Angelcorpse.
