In a process of recording a demo I represent you Ivje from Slovenia. They are on the scene since year 2001 already but they were not that well known back then. Their name is getting stronger on Slovenian scene during years and I must say they are great and I cant wait to hear the demo. Read more about them in the interview. www.myspace.com/ivje
MR: Introduce Ivje to people that does not know you yet. Ivje: We are black metal band from Slovenia. MR: The first name was Malison. What made you change it to Ivje? Ivje: We wanted a Slovenian name for the band, so we changed it to Ivje.
MR: Did the fact that Andraz left the band changed your way of working or did everything stayed the same with arrival of Luka? Ivje: The departure of Andraz did not have any special effect on the work of Ivje. We rehearsed without a bass player for a year, until Luka came into band and replaced him.
MR: What do you think about Slovenian scene? Would you change anything about it? Ivje: Slovenian black metal scene is currently developing, after being in a stagnation after some of the founders distorted their style with other influences of music. Now, there are some new black metal bands emerging, and there are many concerts that fuel the black flame. MR: I know you are in the process of recording a demo. Can you tell me where are you recording it and when can we expect it to be released? Ivje: Demo will be recorded in our rehearsal dungeon. We expect to finish the demo in the beginning of October. MR: Where can we get it when it will be available? Ivje: Demo will be available on our live shows or via mail. A song or two will also be put on www.myspace.com/ivje
MR: You had few concerts already so far,but where can we see you in the near future? Ivje: After the demo is done, we are planning a concert or two. As soon as we arrange them, the info will be available on our MySpace page.
MR: What is the best thing for you when you are on stage? Ivje: The best thing on stage is the response we get from people who are banging heads in front of the stage and to see that someone understands our music.
MR: Can you tell me positive and negative things about being in a band? Ivje: There are not many negative sides, but a lot of positive ones. The biggest is of course expression of your feelings, way of life and thinking through music.
MR: What do you usually do before you go on stage? Drink beers and have fun or rehearse like maniacs? Ivje: Before we go on stage we like to have a drink or two and sociate with other bands and our support. MR: Who writes lyrics? What is the main theme when it comes to lyrics? Ivje: Most of the lyrics is written by Tine Bregar, with some additions from other members. The main theme is the path of darkness and the impact it has on its follower.
MR: What band has the biggest influence on you? Is there any special band you would really like to play with? Ivje: There are many bands from Norwegian black metal scene, and eastern scene that influenced us individually, but as a band we tend to have no special influences as we would like to develop our own style of playing black metal.
MR: Last words for your fans and readers of MR are yours. Ivje: Stay true in supporting black metal!
