Self released, 2007
After seven years of determination & constant progress, not to forget two previous EP’s and two albums, Finnish band My Fate stands at the cross point in their career. With the arrival of their new singer/vocalist the band is finally ready to unleash their new four tracker EP entitled MMVI.
First of all it is obvious to hear that this quintet from Finland knows how to play their instruments, they sound fresh and tight on these 20 minutes. My Fate’s sound is just massive and aggressive but also accompanied with great solid melodies and countless nuances. Actually I’m not huge fan of this exact blend of different metal genres, but still I must admit that this particular release does sound original and innovative. The same can be said for cover artwork, being very cold, empty and mysterious but at the same time approachable and pure simple.
The best thing about this release are actually aforementioned vocals of Mr. Jukka Ruostila, being very growling to times but also screaming and melodic if you will, wide range vocal abilities.
