Pivotal Reckordings, 2006
Blinded Colony, a Swedish band formerly known as Stigmata, has just released their second full-length release called Bedtime Prayers. Previously, on the pages of metal revolution, we’ve introduced you into the world of Blinded Colony reviewing their first opus Divine. On this new 9 track long cd the band is once again ready to take Sweden and the world by the storm and show all their talents. Once again band shows their unique sound, a never imitating, but still in veins of other Scandinavian bands as Children of Bodom, The Haunted, In Flames, Mercenary, Soilwork etc. It is somehow a perfect mixture of emotional, atmospheric and harmonic keyboards with very aggressive parts as well. In addition to that I must praise the vocal parts of Johan Schuster, it ranges from powerful and throat-tearing scream to soaring and ripping and clean and melodic vocals. Truly awesome vocal abilities this guy has. The guitars are also fantastic with adrenaline-laced rhythms and addictive hooks. The album is almost perfect with interesting and catchy cover-artwork. You’re not bored, not even for a minute. My favourite songs are a melodic masterpiece “Bedtime Prayers” and lyrically very powerful song “21st Century Holocaust” which deals with wars, aggression and understanding between nationals and peoples. I’ll recommend this cd for any fan of In Flames, Soilwork and for others who like their metal served with a legal dose of aggression, honest lyrics and a lot of melody as well. Go and check out more about it on http://label.pivotalalliance.com or at the band’ website www.blindedcolony.com
