It’s time to take a look at the Danish part of this intriguing heavy metal project Malrun. It’s the first time that I have been listening to this band, so I was quite exited. Their newest release Beauty in Chaos is an album containing twelve tracks which vary between melodic tunes combined with soft and dark ballads. “Intro†is a dark ballade with good and clear vocals combined with solo guitar riffs and well played drums. “Winter’s Kiss†is a more heavier track with deep growling and dark thundering drums. Just to mention a few of my favourites.  All of their tracks are melancholic with lyrical content dealing about the universe and its deepest sadness. Besides that the album also has ingredients of high-speed ‘up your ass’ hard rock, and more progressive and alternative compositions as well. Malrun combines forceful dynamic guitar riffs and addictive melodies, so if you are into this type of music then Beauty In Chaos is worth of listening.
Although it’s not a perfect release, it's definitely a step in the right direction; I can not wait to hear what they are up to next. Contact info: www.malrun.dk or www.myspace.com/malrundk
