It all started back in 2006 when four metal-heads decided to form a metal band Invisius. Things have gone pretty well so far, and the band is pleased with it. Friendly and in good spirit, Jacob Fall talked about the band's latest release, The Spawn of Condemnation, their experiences while touring, and their plans for the future.  MR: Hello Guys, thank you for doing this interview with us here at MR. For those who don’t know who you are, can you please introduce the band. Where and who started Invisius? Jacob: You’re welcome, it’s our pleasure. Invisius started back in 2006. Actually no replacements have taken place since we started, so were still the same band. We recorded our first demo just two months after the band started, but a lot has happened since then. We won the “Talent Of The Year†award at the Danish Metal Awards 2007, for our second demo; Edge of Hostility, and has now just release our debut album; The Spawn of Condemnation. MR: Well, congratulation for that. How are you enjoying the process of promoting your latest album The Spawn of Condemnation and what does it involve? What kind of activities? Jacob: Of course it’s tough work to promote a debut album, but we enjoy seeing the different reactions to our work and effort. Regarding what it involves, our great record company; Mighty Music, is doing a lot of hard work to help us, but we’re still promoting via Myspace, Facebook, various Danish metal news sites, and we also are booking most of our own concerts. So we put a lot of work and effort into our promoting. MR: Are you satisfied with the final results, and how has the critics been so far? Is the album well-received? Jacob: We’re quite satisfied with the final result. We really do think that this is a great record. Of course a lot of the tracks on the record are quite old, so it’s not always fun to rehears the old tracks, but live it’s a very different experience. The album has so far been very well-received and we have got a lot of positive feedback. We've only read a few reviews, but those we've read have been quite good as well. MR: How would you describe the sound on The Spawn of Condemnation? And who is responsible for the lyrics? Jacob: If we are to describe the sound, we would say: Tight guitars and drums, with straight on vocals. Kinda' in-your-face. All around a very aggressive and punchy sound. Bassist Jeppe Andersson has written most of the lyrics on this album, but front man Jakob Fall also did a few. MR: What were your musical influences when growing up and where do you find inspiration now, both musically and lyrically? Jacob: When we first started listening to metal music as youngsters, we listened to a lot of various Danish metal bands such as; Hatesphere, As We Fight and Withering Surface, as well as some international bands. Now we are influenced by more bands outside of Denmark, but some Danish bands still have their way into our influences. Lyrically, the inspiration comes from parts of our lives. It's not like we got some huge messages through our lyrics that we want to tell the world and understand, like politics or something like that. We just write about our own lives and it can be about everything that has touched us in some way. MR: Do you guys have ordinary jobs? What do you do for living? Jacob: All of us are currently studying at Ribe Katedralskole, which is an ordinary Danish Gymnasium. This summer four of us are done, and we're really looking forward to put even more time into our music. Apart from that, some of us have part time jobs and Jeppe Andersson is working at the great Danish producer Jacob Hansen. MR: What about when playing concerts. Do any of you have some kind of rituals before entering the stage? Jacob: Actually we don’t have any real rituals before entering the stage. But we all do a bit of warm up, getting ourselves in the right mood for the stage. We also do the classic circle; put our hands in the middle shouting some fucked up things. MR: Do you guys have any plans in the future, or a concert or two in the summer? Jacob: In the moment we’re planning some gigs in the summer/autumn and we hope for some festival gigs during the summer. We’re also working hard on new songs in the rehearsal room. They're turning out to be very cool.
MR: The end is near. Is there anything you want to add before we close this interview? Jacob: Thanks for your interest in the band and for your cool review on The Spawn of Condemnation. Our debut album is out now! Buy it before your dad does. Cheers from Invisius! Interview done by Simona
