Mystic Production, 22nd February 2010
Virgin Snatch is a Polish metal band formed in 2001 in Kraków, as an alternative to band named Death Sea. Former Vader and Behemoth bassist Marcin Nowak has become a member of the Polish thrash & death metal band Virgin Snatch. The band has recently released its fourth album on February 22nd through Polish-based Mystic Production, which is entitled Act of Grace.
Just like its predecessors; S.U.C.K, The Art of Lying, and In The Name Of Blood, this new album contains nine track of classical Thrash metal. With three previous releases in their discography, the band has proved that they are amongst the better thrash groups this country has to offer. But, this is not all, as I honestly do think that this Polish quintet has something unique and fresh to bring to the table. Their style of metal is rather intriguing, powerful, aggressive and full of melodies too. On this CD one can hear some tremendous rhythmic guitar work producing beautiful melodies and clean vocals. I also like the tone of the drums as well as the whole production part.
Their English pronunciation could have been better, but like so many other Eastern bands this is their biggest obstacle to be taken seriously internationally. My favourite song would be a mellow one called “It’s Time” – featuring Vogg/Decapitated.
This is heavy hitting for everyone into classic old –school thrash and captivating sound of Exodus, Megadeth, over Nevermore to their biggest inspirations; Testament. Put differently; if you’re fan of melodic, yet technical and classical thrash metal, I will highly recommend you to check out this album, as you won’t regret it. www.virginsnatch.net
