Sarea is a Swedish metal band with high ambitions. A couple of years ago the band has released their debut album Rise Of A Dying World which gained mixed reactions from the fans and media. Now, the band is topical with their second album Alive, which shows a more straight-forward and secure band.
The sound on Alive is very catchy, with more melodic tunes than the case was with its predecessor. However, one should not think it is all about melody and radio-friendly lyrics, as they have maintained this aggressive approach and even the production part is more powerful. My favourite thing about this record is the vocals of Chris, which are deep and very masculine but still understandable and catchy. It adds an extra dimension and depth to their music.
I can highly recommend this record to any fan of death metal/hard core and esp. if you like following bands: Rage, In Flames, Soilwork, Killswitch Engage, Pantera, Bullet For My Valentine and similar. For more info on this rather interesting band go to http://www.myspace.com/sareamusic where you can hear some of the best songs taken from Alive.
