Bad Mood Man/Solitude Productions, 9th September 2009
After a few numbers of pure listening I’m left with nothing but “wow” inmy head. I’ve absolutely no idea of what to write about this album, Iguess it’s because the title of this Beyond The Gates Of Insanity fits the tracks so well that I can’t come up with a closer description.
Listening to this makes me go beyond that said gate of insanity of whichthey must be speaking, the tempo in these songs are higher than expected, the doom metal laziness is not as much represented in this case and thatis what actually intrigues me the most about this album. There is longguitar riffs that works so great with the whole of this, getting you intoa more dark mood and thinking in lines that would refer many to a placethat could call their own hell or whatnot.
The vocalist here Dmitry Gubsky must have the most sore throat in theworld, and if not, I am in complete and total awe. His screaming vocalsthroughout every single number on this album make my mind cross this “Gateof insanity” which the title refers to.
I was quite taken by surprise with this album, I had expected myself to besitting through something I would not withstand for an entire albumlength, but actually they made it work even for a “wuz” like myself.
