Trés-Gore Records, 2008
Tres-Gore Records from France has specialized in releasing brutal and extreme metal releases. So is their latest release from Estonian (Tallinn) brutal metallers Catafalc. The album is called Still Suffering and it contains nine songs of brutal death metal much in the vein of Hate, Suffocation, Death, Impaled Nazarene, Deicide etc. Lyrical themes are mainly about what I would call typical death metal themes of brutality, perversion, death, gore etc. The drums are heavy and fast as fuck followed by sepulchral and deep growling and deadly and sharp laden guitar riffs. The sound is really awesome, loud yet clear and scary creating this always wanted death metal atmosphere. The same goes for the cover artwork being done very professionally showing the great enthusiasm and hard work on the part of the band and their management. It is surprisingly fresh piece of extreme death metal that will satisfy any death metal freak. For further information on Catafalc go to www.catafalc.com and/or www.myspace.com/catafalc
