Conquer Records, January 2008
See, Poland is more than what has been portrayed in our (Western) media. It is not all about corruption, criminal groups and conservative political and religious hardliners. Poland is also the birth place of some of the best metal acts in Eastern Europe and Europe is general.
Once before on the pages of Metal Revolution we’ve presented you with the work of Devilish Impressions and their 2006 release Plurima Mortis Imago which can be read right here.
What we now have here is a follow-up, a band’s second full-length titled Diabolicanos – Act III: Armageddon. The band is still on this 9-tracker playing this avant-garde/modern death/black metal. The music is therefore also still brutal at times, but it is also beautiful and somehow appealing to me. The album, as just mentioned, consists of nine well written songs with epic yet extravagant vocals of Quazarre (known from another Polish band Asgaard).
The sound in general is good and despite of the fact that I didn’t had any bigger complains last time either, I think that the whole production thing has improved a lot on this new opus. It has got more original, interesting and with a personal touch if you will.
With the support of mighty Conquer Records I’m sure this record will gain some good reviews and feedback from the fans and the media as this five-headed monster truly deserves it more than anyone. If you are like me into dark, extreme, cold and sick, yet beautiful, atmospheric and epic album I can recommend you to spend your last pennies this month to buy this record. Forget all about Christ and celebrations of his birthday and love to him this month. December is deserved for Polish hatred without any compromise! Esp. must have for the fans of Vader, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Marduk, Aeternus, Borknagar etc. www.devilish-impressions.com or/and www.conquerrec.com
